Czech Trip Follow Up

Friends - I pray your summer is off to as joyful and fruitful start as the grace of God has allowed mine to be.

This week I have returned from the Czech Republic where I was asked to lead a conference for Pastors and church leaders from every part of the Czech Republic.  As you likely know, the Czech Republic has 10.5 million souls with less than 1% being evangelical. Their largest religion is “non-religious” and crime, substance abuse, immorality, depression and suicide have all INCREASED since the fall of communism. Sadly, the impact and faithfulness of the church has not. My prayer is that a result of the days I was able to spend discipling, encouraging, reminding, teaching and serving believers in this beautiful land will be a part of the Lord reversing the darkness. If you want to be encouraged - read about Jan Hus- a great hero of the faith who was burned at the stake because he fearlessly went about “preaching the kingdom of God and teaching concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all openness, unhindered” during his day.  Thank you for all of you who invested here with me - I pray our shared work and stewardship of life and gifts bears much fruit in the Czech Republic and everywhere the Lord has us this summer.  Read

 to be encouraged. I am confident the Lord knows of your love for His name and will not forget the kindness of your investment. 

I saw people trust in our Savior. I believe pastors were equipped. I believe churches were strengthened. I watched God’s people grow, change, and commit to greater things.

Meanwhile, back here in the states, I have been asked this weekend to lead a study in God’s word with a group of friends who have a desire to be salt and light right here in Dallas. Pray that my encouragement to this passionate group of believers will be an impetus to create a stronghold of grace that will allow many in our city to come and see the kindness of the Lord and the beauty of His way. Pray the church in Dallas is strengthened and new works begin that will increase the fame of our Savior and obedience to Christ in our city. If you want to sit in on the conversation and join these faithful friends, reply to this email and I can send you details.
